Welcome to WREN
WREN was founded over 30 years ago, powered by rural women committed to the mission of supporting better lives and livelihoods in New Hampshire’s North Country. Today, WREN is a community organization open to all, providing educational and cultural opportunities in a supportive network.
Art in the North Country: The Gallery at WREN
For over 20 years, The Gallery at WREN has set the standard for fine arts in the North Country.
Opening on Friday, September 5th, Finding Home: Portraits and Memories of Immigrants, is a moving photography exhibit by Becky Field celebrating the stories and resilience of New Hampshire’s immigrant communities.
This exhibit draws attention to the diversity in our communities, honors immigrants’ contributions, and stimulates public understanding of immigration and refugee resettlement. Since 2012, Field has captured powerful images of people from around the world who now call the Granite State home. From joyful kitchen traditions to playful childhood moments, her portraits reveal the rich cultural diversity shaping New Hampshire.
Please join us at the Gallery at WREN for an opening reception on Friday, September 5, from 5 – 7 pm. Meet Becky, learn about the exhibit, and enjoy refreshments in the Gallery. All are welcome at this free event.
Following the reception, Becky Field will introduce a special 7:30 screening of Minari at The Colonial Theater. A question and answer session will follow. Purchase advance tickets for this special screening here.
On Saturday, September 6th, at 11 am, join us in the Gallery for an artist talk. Becky will be joined by Mohamed Ibrahim Akhtarzadah. Ibrahim and his siblings came from Afghanistan after the withdrawal in August of 2021. He is a senior at Southern NH University. RSVP here for this free event.
