Natalie Woodroofe

Natalie served as WREN’s founding Executive Director from 1994 until 2006. For the last 30 years her work has focused on fostering community while building resources and economic opportunity within Rural America. After joining the Association for Enterprise Opportunity program staff in 2006, she directed three nationwide learning clusters focused on rural policy, innovative economic development strategies, and mentoring those launching microenterprise programs in unserved regions. She went on to work for and with a number of nonprofits, focusing on local food systems and creating branding and technical assistance programs for organizations supporting farm and food enterprises. In 2017, she returned to WREN to provide grants development and management and is now the organization’s Interim Director.

Katherine Ferrier

Drawing on her experience as a poet, dancer, maker, teacher, entrepreneur, curator, director and community organizer, Katherine serves as the Program Director for LEAP, a program she designed to meet the specific business needs of artist and maker entrepreneurs. She joined the staff at WREN in 2011, managing The Gallery at WREN and its programming, establishing it as both a vibrant market for artists, and a hub for creative networking. In 2016, she was named the NH Arts Advocate of the Year by NH Citizens for the Arts for her work on behalf of North Country artists.  Currently residing in Portland, Maine, she regularly teaches and performs throughout the US and abroad, and believes in patchwork as the radical practice of being patient, saying yes, and making space for everyone at the table.

Katy Curnyn

Katy joined the WREN staff in 1999 to launch our first retail store. Unlike other stores she had managed or owned, this one had a double bottom line: to provide ‘real world’ retail vendor experience for WREN members seeking a market for their artisan goods, and to manage operations for a year-round store that would enhance the vitality of Bethlehem’s Main Street. Over the next 20 years, she provided one-on-one product development support to hundreds of store vendors, revised and updated assistance education to address a changing retail landscape, and oversaw the generation of hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales that supported our members and the organization’s work. Katy is currently developing and directing our program offerings, as well as managing our scholarship opportunities for New Hampshire residents.
